About the species Yellow water lily

About the species

An aquatic plant with yellow flowers and floating and submerged leaves. It grows in both standing and slow-flowing waters.

Where to find it by the water

Ponds, lakes, oxbows and slow rivers with a soft bottom.

What this means for anglers

Under floating leaves fish look for shade and cover. Thickets make fishing harder, but they attract fish.

When it is observed

Records by month in the areas around the fishing districts (GBIF).

In November the species is observed less than in the main season. Most records are from August.

The records come from people's observations and also reflect when and where observers move around. They are not a measurement of numbers or a guarantee of an encounter.

Where it was recorded

Fishing districts around which a record of this species exists. Sorted by number of records.

863 fishing districts in total, 36 shown. The number next to a fishing district is the number of records around it. Show on map
